When you look in the mirror and feel you look younger than your age, or other people tell you that you look younger than your age, your brain automatically orders all of your system to start working to help you actually look younger. In medicine this is called a psychosomatic response, which means an interaction of mind and body. It’s a good idea to keep up your appearance and to look younger so that you can enjoy your life more, increase your self-confidence and have better expectations of life.
Our face ages more rapidly than other parts of our body. Our face affects the way people look at us, and affects the way we look at ourselves. One reason the face ages more rapidly, is that facial skin has direct exposure to the environment, more than any other area on your body. Exposure to sun, wind, heat, cold, as well as chemical and biological pollution, can all damage our face. The physiological changes of aging, such as hormonal surges, depleted collagen production, free-radical damage, loose facial ligaments, genetic disposition, and poor diet, can all produce sagging dull skin.
The facial muscles are directly attached to the skin that covers them. When these facial muscles begin to lose their tone and elasticity due to factors such as age and gravity, the skin that is attached to them begins to sag. This creates the appearance of old, aging skin, when in reality; it is weak muscle tone that causes the skin to sag.
With facial exercising, you can accomplish a more youthful appearance. Facial exercise is like exercising the other parts of the body; exercise is good but should be done in the correct way. Like any other kind of exercise, an incorrect form can be harmful.
